UK release date and pricing revealed for iPad 2

Date Added 31/03/2011

Despite rumors that the iPad 2 launch might be delayed because of shortages, Apple have announced that the iPad 2 will be available in 25 countries on the 25th March.

UK customers will be able to get their hands on Apples latest must have device from 5pm (GMT) and prices will be cheaper than what they were when the original iPad was launched last year.

The cheapest iPad 2 (16GB wifi) will be priced at £399, which is £30 cheaper than the same model for the original iPad last year.

The most expensive iPad 2 (64GB wifi + 3G) will be priced at £659, which is £40 cheaper than the same model for the original iPad last year.

Just like the USA, Customers in the UK looking to buy the iPad 2 on launch day are expected to face long queues and may face disappointment at the limited supply available.

However, Steve Jobs (Apple’s CEO) has said: “We’re experiencing amazing demand for iPad 2 in the US, and customers around the world have told us they can’t wait to get their hands on it. We appreciate everyone’s patience and we are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone."
