Launched in the summer of 2008, Apple have announced that their App Store is about to hit 10 billion downloads and whoever downloads it, will receive a $10,000 iTunes gift card.

Apple have also announced the top apps of all time and we were surprised at some of the results.

Angry Birds only managed 4th on the top ten paid apps with Doodle Jump taking the top spot.

There were no surprises on the top free app though, as Facebook claimed the number 1 spot.

Here at the spot, we have estimated that the 10 billionth app is excepted to be downloaded just after 3:00am GMT on Saturday January 22nd.

So what will the 10 billionth app be? Will it be Facebook or Angry Birds? Or will it be the highly talked about Bubble Ball created by 14 year old whiz kid Robert Nay?

Needless to say, 10 Billion downloads is a remarkable achievement for Apple and no doubt there will be some other great apps coming this year to keep us all entertained.
