Standard Terms & Conditions

All Repairs

All repairs are subject to a simple Apple diagnostic test. In some cases, system serial numbers, hardware configurations information, Mac OS/iLife versions and test results collected will be sent to Apple anonymously. By agreeing to these terms & conditions you are accepting that this information may be sent to Apple.

Non-Warranty Repairs and Upgrades

All repairs not covered by a valid Apple Warranty will be subject to our health check (see below for current pricing). The health check relates to the engineer's time for looking at the equipment and assessing the work required. You will then be given a quote for the cost of the repair. In some cases, a third party part may be offered to fix or upgrade your machine. After the repair or upgrade is complete, the customer will be contacted by phone.

Warranty Repairs and Upgrades

The standard Apple Warranty covers equipment for one year from the date of purchase. The Apple Warranty covers hardware faults only. Problems with or related to system or application software are not covered. If equipment is covered by a valid Apple Warranty you must provide Microspot Computer Services Ltd with a proof of purchase date when the equipment is checked in for repair. Please note that Apple do not guarantee a fixed time for these repairs as this will be affected by the availability of parts. Only genuine Apple replacement parts will be fitted. Apple Care Warranty's cover equipment for three years from the date of purchase. A third party part may be offered to upgrade your machine, this may void the warranty in some cases. However, if you come back to Microspot Computer Services Ltd, we shall still service it under warranty until your original coverage runs out. After the repair or upgrade is complete, the customer will be contacted by phone.

Replacement Parts

All warranty replacement parts are covered by a standard three month warranty from the date of the repair delivery note or by the original Apple warranty on your machine (which ever provides the longer coverage). All non-warranty replacement parts are covered by a standard three month warranty from the date of the repair delivery note

Supply of Spare Parts

We regret that Apple's policy prohibits us from supplying any Apple spare parts and certain batteries directly to customers. Microspot Computer Services Ltd cannot give free technical advice/assistance to, or be held responsible for any damage caused by customers deciding to install parts themselves.

IMPORTANT

Microspot Computer Services Ltd cannot be held responsible for the loss of damage to customer data held on storage media when equipment is brought in for repair. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that any important data is backed up prior to the repair being carried out.

Charges

Health Check: £35.00, Spring Clean: £39.00, Health Check and Spring Clean Combo: £60 iPod Diagnostic: £15.00, Repairs/Servicing: £65.00 per hour, Data Recovery/Backup attempt: price on application (minimum £65), Parts: At manufacturers recommended retail price

Payment Terms

All prices quoted exclude VAT All repairs/servicing/diagnostics undertaken must be paid for in full on collection unless otherwise stated. All major credit cards accepted (except Amex). Cheques can only be accepted up to the valuation of a valid Cheque Guarantee Card. Company cheques may require additional time to clear.

Uncollected Repairs

If after 1 month of your initial phone call, if your machine is still waiting for collection, Microspot Computer Services Ltd will contact you by phone to remind you it is waiting to be picked up. If after 2 months of your initial phone call, if your machine is still waiting for collection, Microspot Computer Services Ltd will send you a letter to remind you it is waiting to be picked up.

If after 3 months of your initial phone call, if your machine is still waiting for collection, Microspot Computer Services Ltd will charge a fee of £50 a week until the fee exceeds the value of the machine. After that, Microspot Computer Services Ltd reserve the right to dispose of your machine
