Apple CEO Steve Jobs made a shock return to the stage yesterday to announce the highly anticipated iPad 2 at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, USA.

Featuring an all new design that is 33% thinner and up to 15% lighter than is predecessor, the iPad 2 will be available in the UK from 25th March and will be available in both black and white.

The new device also features a new dual-core A5 chip, 2 cameras for FaceTime video calling and will be shipped with iOS 4.3 (which is due to be released for other iOS devices on March 11th).
