Flash could be making its way to Apple iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad thanks to Adobe. "Wallaby" is the codename for an experimental technology that converts the artwork and animation contained in Adobe® Flash® Professional (FLA) files into HTML.
Available on Adobe's Lab pages, "Wallaby" can convert Flash files into HTML5 (which is supported by Safari on iOS) using a drag and drop style interface. Users move their .fla files in to the software, which then outputs HTML-friendly files that can be edited manually using your preferred HTML editor such as Adobe Dreamweaver.
At this time, the new software can only handle simple animations and is expected to be used for advertising purposes. However, here at the spot we reckon if the software does takes off, future updates could mean that our Apple handheld devices could soon be supporting all those internet flash games we have all come to know and love.
