Apple today launched the highly anticipated iPhone 4S at their headquarters in Cupertino, California.
The first product to be launched under the reign of new CEO Tim Cook, the iPhone 4s has the same design as the iPhone 4 but has all new features.
New features include:
The A5 processor meaning that Apples latest iPhone now has up 7x faster graphics than it’s predecessor.
An 8 mega-pixel camera sensor (60% more pixels than the iPhone 4).
Improved battery life, with the new iPhone 4S being able to manage up to 8 hours of 3G talk time, 14 hours of 2G talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 9 hours of Wi-Fi browsing, 10 hours of video playback and 40 hours of music playback.
Siri, a ‘personal assistant’ which, allows the user to ask their phone to set alarms, reminders and find certain locations all through the aid of voice activation.
The iPhone 4S will have Both GSM and CDMA making it a world phone and will be released on the 14th October.
iOS 5 will power the iPhone 4S and will have over 200 features including updates to the camera, photos, safari and a new notifications centre.
Also announced at the event was a new app from Apple called ‘Cards’.
The new app allows the user to choose up to 21 designs to create cards on their iPhone. When the user is happy with their design, Apple print it out, put the address on it, and mail it. With users in America having the luxury of tracking the card with the US Postal Service barcode and receiving a push notification when it arrives.
Cards will be released be available to download for free on October 12th.
Minor updates to the iPod Nano and iPod Touch were also announced with the iPod Touch now being available in white.
