BlackBerry have announced that it’s popular BBM messaging service shall be available to Apple iOS users this summer.

Widely regarded as setting the standard for mobile instant messaging, BlackBerry will be hoping to add to BBMs 60 million monthly users who reportedly send on average 10 billions messaged per day.

Although the initial release will only offer messaging and face stiff competition in the likes of popular messaging services such as WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and of course Apple’s own iMessages, BlackBerry will be looking to steal users with features including: BBM Voice, BBM Video, screen-sharing and their new BBM Channels feature.

An exact release date for BBM on iOS has yet to be confirmed, but with summer just around the corner, expect it to appear in the App store within the next few months.
